  • Phoenix Design > Red Dot: Design Team of the Year 2018

    The award of honour “Red Dot: Design Team of the Year” will be awarded this year to Phoenix Design with its design teams in Stuttgart, Munich, and Shanghai. We are very happy about this special award! The Award Winning Ceremony and Exhibition Opening take place on 9 July 2018 in Essen/Germany. 

  • The Joy of Flying

    Philipp Emmert dealt with the “Smart Economy Service Experience” during air travel at the Phoenix Design Academy. From that experience, the industrial designer has deduced his concept for an holistic “Food Service Experience” for both passengers and flight attendants. The designed components comprise: Service Units (Meal Server, Refiller), Travel Bottle, self-heating Smart Packaging.

  • Change in the Phoenix Design Management

    As the new Digital Director, Marius Bauer leads the Phoenix Design studio in Munich and is part of the PHOENIX management from now on. In 2017, Andreas Diefenbach and Joon-Mo Lee were already appointed as members of the board. In addition, Yifan Zhang heads the new Shanghai studio since September.

    Kombiniere ein Möbelstück mit einem Adjektiv – und designe das „kompakte Sofa“. Werkgymnasiasten in Heidenheim haben zusammen mit Phoenix Designerin Steffi Moser ihre Lieblingskombi gestaltet. Mit der Workshop-Reihe "Entdecke Design" der Stiftung Deutsches Design Museum, wurden mit der gleichnamigen Bildungsinitiative seit 2014 schon über 13.000 Schüler in ganz Deutschland erreicht.

  • 30 Years of Phoenix Design with logic morals magic

    Following the motto of “30 Years of Phoenix Design – Logic, Moral, Magic”, this 30-year anniversary saw a spirited celebration at the legendary BIX jazz club in Stuttgart with more than 200 business partners and staff. Andreas Haug and Tom Schönherr took anecdotes as well as flops and hits from those days to the stage. The future was presented as well: new management board, new business areas, and strong growth in the Asian region.

    From product design to innovation design partner: Phoenix Design adjusts its visual appearance. With the new Corporate Design, Phoenix Design not only parts with its red square, the logo is also shortened to one single concise word: PHOENIX.

  • Design for digital water

    The Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) taking place 3–11 March 2018 once again attracted international top designers, architects, creative professionals and business representatives to the Bavarian capital. Matching the motto “Design Transforms”, Phoenix Design delivered two contributions and present trends and design concepts around the theme of water.

  • Design Friends Conference in Luxembourg

    On 24 January 2018, Andreas Diefenbach, member of the Phoenix Design Management Board, was the invited guest speaker at the conference series by the Design Friends at the museum of contemporary art MUDAM in Luxembourg. In his one-hour speech about “The Future of Living” he dealt with pivotal design topics.

  • User Experience of Care-O-bot 4 Tested in Practice

    “What’s the Effect of Care-O-bot 4 on the Selling Floor? Evaluating the User Experience of a Service Robot” is the title of a research paper by Carolin Schmitt she wrote while with Phoenix Design. In her paper, the Interaction Designer investigates how visitors to the electronics store Saturn in Ingolstadt reacted to the Fraunhofer IPA Care-O-bot 4 designed by Phoenix Design.

  • Red Dot Award: Best of the Best 2017

    Phoenix Design, with their client Hansgrohe SE, wins the top award “Red Dot Award: Best of the Best” for the KitchenSinkCombi C71. In January 2017, the kitchen sink combinations were first presented at IMM Cologne, and now they already receive the coveted quality seal for the new kitchen market.

  • Welcome, Hackers!

    From 5–7 May 2017, the first Munich AngelHack took place in the Phoenix Design studio. Besides urban centres like New York City or Hong Kong, Munich is the first of more than 60 stations of this year’s world tour. Some 40 entrepreneurs, developers and designers convened for the Hackathon over the weekend in order to realise their ideas on the topic of SMART HOME. 

  • Luminous drone "bat"

    The Phoenix Design Academy is an Innovation Lab for young and experienced designers, where they can realise and share their visions. The joint claim is to work on topics relevant for society, and to find new solutions for current problems. As project leaders, the students pass through the entire creative process, from finding the first idea via iterative prototyping all the way to the product which can be put into practice. They are accompanied by their mentor Sven Feustel, Design Team Manager with Phoenix Design, and by other specialists from the Phoenix team.
